Service provider in Argentina

CUIT: Argentine tax identification number. BCRA: Banco Central de la República Argentina, Argentina's central bank. PSP: payment service provider.

Payment accounts

FCM Payment Solutions S.A.S. limits itself to offering payment services and is not authorized by the BCRA to operate as a financial institution. Funds deposited in payment accounts do not constitute deposits in a financial institution, nor do they have any of the guarantees that such deposits may enjoy under the laws and regulations applicable to deposits in financial institutions.

What this API does not do

  • It does not handle digital assets. There are no crypto-assets, stablecoins, blockchain addresses, conversions or quotes. The BCRA's consolidated rules for payment service providers (section 4.6) prohibit FCM Payment Solutions S.A.S. from carrying them out or facilitating them. If a client operates crypto, that leg is executed by another regulated legal entity and FCM Payment Solutions S.A.S. only moves pesos against instructions.
  • It does not handle foreign currency or cross-border transfers. The only currency is ARS, and destinations are CBUs, CVUs or aliases of the Argentine system.
  • It does not create CVUs or accounts in phase 1. Grip Rails creates them at the entity's request (they show up as listable account numbers). Creation through the API is phase 2.

Use of the API

Grip Rails technology belongs to Peppe IO, LLC (Grip). In Argentina it is operated by FCM Payment Solutions S.A.S. Use of the API is governed by the contract between FCM Payment Solutions S.A.S. and each client.
